You don't have to go very far to have a great time ...

  • "The Art of Landscape 2010" Juried Art Show  will take place at the Topanga Canyon Inn from April 20 through May 10, 2010 with a champagne reception on Sunday, April 25  1:00 - 5:00 PM.  All art lovers and collectors are welcome to join us for the reception or view this exhibition by appointment during the above dates.

  • Enjoy Topanga Canyon's natural beauty by hiking, mountain biking or horseback riding in Topanga State Park. Amid the caves, cliffs and canyons of the Santa Monica Mountains, this park features nearly forty miles of trails and views of the Pacific Ocean, Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley.  Walk 1/4 mile up the private road from the Topanga Canyon Inn and you are in the park.

  • If Geocaching is your thing, we have in excess of 300 geocaches within hiking distance of our Inn.

  • Go mountain or road biking with a rental or new bike from Topanga Creek Bicycles at 1273 N. Topanga Canyon Blvd.  They also do repairs and upgrades.  Here is a link to some local mountain bike trails.

  • Get on a horse for a trail ride.  Call our friends, Los Angeles Horseback Riding, at 818 591 2032.  Their Ranch was voted the most beautiful place to trail ride by Los Angeles Magazine.

  • Go to the beach: Topanga, Malibu, Pacific Palisades, Santa Monica...there's lots of sand out there.

  •  Fish off the beach, local piers or boats out of Marina del Rey.

  • Surf Topanga, Malibu, Zuma, County Line, Mugu, Supertubes, Port Hueneme to the north.  Surf Chevron Reef, Manhatten, Hermosa, Haggerty's and Lunada Bay to the south.  Malibu and Chevron Reef are among the best surf breaks in Southern California and are just down the hill from our Inn.

  • In winter you can ski in several local mountain ranges 1 1/2 to 2 hours drive.  You can ice-skate locally year round.

  • The Topanga Earth Day Festival is usually in the middle of April, and celebrates Mother Earth with musicians, performers, drum and musical workshops, speakers and other exciting events.  Come to Topanga Days Country Fair on Memorial Day weekend.

  • Visit the Getty Villa just down the road near where Topanga Canyon Blvd. ends at the beach.  This museum with gardens is modeled after a Roman villa and features Greek, Roman and Etruscan antiquities.  Call 310 440 7300 or make your reservation on line.  Admission is free.

  • Go rock climbing locally with William Leventhal, a highly experienced climber and instructor.  His phone is 818 970-7680 and his email is lunarlevy@aol.com.
