Works of art will be selected based on the
artist’s ability to draw and capture mood, as well as artist’s choice of colors,
mastery of brushwork or pencil technique and originality.

JUROR OF AWARDS: Plein air artist Frank Serrano has earned national
recognition for his ability to capture moody atmospheric effects in landscapes.
ELIGIBILITY: The contest is open to all artists over eighteen years of age.
Two dimensional art works that portray a landscape in the mediums of oil,
watercolor, pastel, charcoal, graphite and colored pencil no larger than 32
inches framed in either direction are eligible. All works must be originals
created by the entering artist. Art works based on published material or other
artists’ work are NOT considered original and are not eligible. Paintings based
on another person's photograph (even if it’s copyright-free) are NOT eligible.
Studio Elena Roché reserves the right to reject work that does not meet above
criteria or is deemed unsuitable for this exhibition. All submitted art works
must be available for sale.
PREPARING YOUR ENTRY
DIGITAL ENTRIES BY MAIL: All mailed digital files must be accompanied by
a signed Official Entry Form or facsimile. There is no limit to the number of
images you may enter. Mail all your entries on one CD. Mark the CD with the name
of this competition, the artist’s name and titles of art work. Save images on
the CD as Jpg with artist’s first initial, last name and title of artwork as
shown in this example: ERoche_LowTide.jpg The titles of the images on the
CD must match the titles on the Official Entry Form. Each image can not
exceed 1000 pixels in either direction at not greater than 150 dpi resolution.
Incomplete entry forms and improperly marked CDs will be disqualified.
DIGITAL ENTRIES BY EMAIL: All emailed digital files must be accompanied
by a signed Official Entry Form or facsimile that is mailed or faxed to Studio

limit to the number of images you may enter. You may email up to five entries in
one email. Send more emails if you are entering more than five images. Save
images as Jpg with artist’s first initial, last name and title of artwork as

image can not exceed 1000 pixels in either direction at no greater than 150 dpi

SLIDE ENTRIES: Only 35mm slides, accompanied by an Official Entry Form
or facsimile will be considered. There is no limit to the number of slides you
may enter. Please write directly on slides. They should be labeled individually
and legibly and should not be taped together. On the front of the slide (the
side that faces you as you hold it up to the light to be viewed), note the title
and dimensions of the artwork. Indicate the top direction with an arrow. On the
back of the slide, write your name, address and phone number legibly. Incomplete
entry forms and improperly marked slides will be disqualified.
FEES AND PAYMENT: The first entry is $25 per slide or digital image. Each
additional slide or digital image is $10. A check, a pay pal payment or a credit
card payment for the required jury fee (in U.S. funds drawn on a U.S. bank) must
accompany a mailed-in entry. Please make sure you pay the EXACT AMOUNT. Entries
with payment for the amount greater than the indicated entry fee will not be
refunded. You may send one check to cover all entries in a package. You may pay
through Pay Pal and include the transaction number in the Official Entry Form.
You may pay using a credit card and include Card Number, Name and expiration in
the Official Entry Form. There will be a $15 charge for returned checks or
declined credit cards. Credit cards will be charged within 10 days of contest
deadline. Charge will appear as "Topanga Canyon Inn."
MATERIALS RETURN: Include a self addressed stamped envelope for return of
slides and CDs. Otherwise slide and CDs will not be returned (Always have a
duplicate made for your own files).

NOTIFICATIONS: All accepted artists will be notified on or before April 11,
2010 via email or phone. Not accepted entrants will be notified by mail or email
by April 12, 2010. Your cancelled check or credit-card charge will be
notification for receipt of your entry.
PREPARATION OF ARTWORK: Accepted artwork must be framed and wired for
hanging.
DELIVERY OF ART WORK: Delivered artwork should match the image of entered
and accepted artwork. Hand deliver accepted art work on April 18, 2010 between
12:00 Noon and 5:00 PM to Topanga Canyon Inn Bed and Breakfast – Art Gallery or
ship accepted artwork in a sturdy box suitable for returning unsold artwork via
FedEx or UPS to: Topanga Canyon Inn Bed and Breakfast – Art Gallery,
20310 Callon Drive, Topanga, CA 90290 All shipped artwork should be insured,
have prepaid return postage and a signed Contract for Exhibition and Sale packed
with the artwork.
PICK UP OF UNSOLD ARTWORK: May 10, 2010 between 12:00 Noon and 5:00 PM.
RETURN OF UNSOLD ARTWORK: Unsold artwork that has paid return postage will
be shipped on or before May 15, 2010. Artists whose art work was not picked up
or had no return postage will be charged a $5 per day storage fee for 60 days
after which it will become the property of Topanga Canyon Inn Bed and Breakfast
– Art Gallery.
GALLERY COMMISSION: Accepted artists must execute a Contract for the
Exhibition and Sale of an Artwork wherein 70% of the sale price
will be paid to the artist. Topanga Canyon Inn Bed and Breakfast – Art Gallery
will retain a 30% commission.
PRIVACY PROMISE: The information you enter for this competition will not be
shared with a third party and will only be used for the purpose of contacting
entrants for this and future art shows at the Topanga Canyon Inn Bed and
Breakfast - Art Gallery and Studio Elena Roché.
